Located on Idra Isle the prooving grounds was once a mine owned by Simon Bloodbane, the mine made him a very rich man which he used to build himself a castle on the Isle, at some point after this somthing happened at the mine that would change it forever, most of what happened next is hearsay from a few scattered reports of terrified miners who managed to flee the mines before the creatures overtook them, it seems that the miners had dug too deep into the earth and awoken some kind of evil, creatures that had slept for perhaps an eternity had been awakened and had slaughtered everyone they found they rose up from the lower levels leaving behind death and chaos, they would have over run the whole Isle except for the Baron, he had in his possesion an artifact called the skull of Riga, what happened next no one truely knows, somehow he used this skull to transform the very mine itself in to what it is today, a maze of twisty passages forever shifting and changing and keeping the evil denizens locked within.

Baron Bloodbane was also a changed man after he used the skull, where he was once kind, he now sits in his castle locked within his own madness, looked after by servents who to this day remember the man he was and not what he has become.
