By this point you have probably travelled around Lasler and killed a few beasties, or had your butt whipped a few times, perhaps a bit of both. But hopefully you have gained yourself a bit of gold and if you can use that to upgrade your armor and weapon it will help you greatly. Better armor means less damage, better weapons means more damage :)

Shopping in the world of Alyria is very easy. As with trainers, different shops sell different items and now there are player run shops where you can buy even more rare equipment from (thats not available in normal shops). No matter what you are buying the commands are always the same. To find out what a shop stocks, simply goto it and type shop list.

Before you purchase your new equipment, potion, scroll, weapon etc, you must make sure it is the right one for you. Equipment can raise or lower stats. You are also able to wear any equipment up to 5 levels above your own, so for example if you are a level 2 character, you could wear up to level 7 armor and the same goes for weapons.

There are three exceptions for the 5 levels above you rule stated above, and thats scrolls, bags and reagents. Since you don't need to hold these items (unless you wish to use a scroll by wearing it, then it will need to be wthin your level) so as long as you have the required SCC to cast the spell you will be able to scribe it into a book for use. As for the astrals, as long as they are within 45 levels of your character, you will be able to store them (anything 45 levels above your character is not saveable when you quit out).

Bags and other containers have yet another exception, while you will not be able to purchase them from shops or the auction channel if they are more than 45 levels above you, if you have higher level friends who can give you a container you can save them when you quit no matter what their level is.

When purchasing from shops, all you need to type in is:

Shop buy 2

This will make you purchase 1 of item 2 on the shop's list.

But if you wanted to purchase say two bronze wrist guards (item 5)

Shop buy 2 5

This will make you purchase 2 of item 5, and the amount is only maxed at what you can carry in your inventory, it will tell you when you check your inventory, you may carry a maximum of XX items weighing upto XX stone.
