Welcome to our latest guide, we hope this is a complete guide to building a new character within the realm of Materia Magica. This guide is aimed at the true novice who finds themselves struggling to understand character creation and their first few hours or days within the game.

This guide was created using Portal, one of the many clients available for playing text games. Some cost money while others are available for free. For more information have a look at Materia Magica's links page.

As was said before, this guide is not aimed at players with experience, it is here to help out the novice players and to give them a little boost with their first few hours within the game. Hopefully it will help them to understand some of the game systems, from what stats are to how to train skills and spells and so forth.

Within these pages are no walkthroughs for marks, or a quick and easy way of making the perfect player killing character. But if this guide can help a handful of new players enjoy the world of Materia Magica, we are more than happy.

On each page of the guide is a small screenshot to hopefully help you understand better. Simply click on whatever screenshot you wish to see better and it will open in a new window. The screenshots are not of a great quality, and mostly unedited (clan talks and personal information has been removed).
